On July 1st, 1978, Mort and I opened the doors to "Mort's Marina" on Lake Wapogasset. Over the years, it's become a favorite gathering place for residents who enjoy lakeside services of GAS, WBT apparel, snacks, ice cream, beer, and a huge candy counter filled with treats for the kids! Keeping residents informed of all the wonderful things Lake Wapogasset Bear Trap has to offer has always been important to us. In 1982 we decided to publish "The Lake Scene" newsletter for WBT residents. With the help of Lake Association trustees, the newsletter is delivered to the doors of every homeowner on WBT 4 times throughout the summer. If you'd like to take a look, go to the HOME page and click on "The Lake Scene" tab above Be sure to read the "Phantom Fishermen" column ... a favorite among homeowners, and sure to give you a chuckle! In 1998, I became a Realtor to sell townhouses at Eagle Crest Cove ... a lakefront community we developed on Lake Wapogasset. Following the final sale at ECC, I moved to Park Lakes and Land Realty and continued my real estate career until 2009. In 2009, my son-in-law, Ryan Hanson and I opened the doors to LAKE LIFE REALTY ... specializing in Wapogasset and Bear Trap properties. If we can't find the 'perfect place' for you on WBT, Ryan (a buyers agent) would enjoy showing you other area lakes. He's travelled as far as Hayward to help his clients find their "dream cabin." He also lists/sells residential properties. My daughter Kristin has her real estate license as well, and now that their youngest son will be in school, she'll become more active at Lake Life Realty. In 2014, Mort decided it was time to retire and enjoy GOLF and FISHING full time! Keeping the doors to the Marina "OPEN" is very important to my entire family! You'll often find one or more of my kids ... Erik/Kelly - Kim/Josh - Kristin/Ryan .. .helping out at the Marina! My grandkids also LOVE helping Gram! Granddaughter Ella and Anna help in the store ... Austin, Owen and Addison are eager to help by holding your boat (and letting you know there are treats and ice cream in the store!)
